Q&A~ with B
Do you take new clients?
Absolutely! If you're ready for a stylist who's part hair therapist, part hype woman and 100% dedicated to making you feel like your best self. My chair's open by appointment. I offer complimentary consultations in person or virtually through Zoom, Google Meet or Face-time. Like a first date-in just a few minutes we'll both know if we're the right fit, then we can set your appointment up tailored to the services and timing perfect for your hair.
How long have you been doing hair?
Long enough to remember when spiral perms, chunky highlights and “The Rachel” were all the rage (And yes, I survived them all) With 25+ years in the industry I've seen trends come-go- and circle back. Somehow even knowing what went wrong with my grandma's blue hair now. It's just amazing to have seen almost 3 decades and how each were apart of my knowledge.
How do you stay current with trends?
"I train. I study. & I play, but here’s the truth. Trends are like bad exes: they always circle back." The key is knowing how to make those trends wearable, modern and yours.
Ex: A “Butterfly” or “Wolf Cut” - both are simply modern variations of the classic shag. Just tailored to today's versions of this cut.
What products do you use?
Aveda has been a longtime favorite of mine, but I also love exploring today’s advanced formulas. I currently use and carry K18, Amika, Briogeo, Kenra and Olaplex. ~All chosen for their performance and innovation.
What makes your salon different?
ME! After 25 years behind the chair — teaching cutting, mentoring assistants, managing double-booked days. I often saw 10+ clients a day. I know the fast-paced salon world inside and out. It taught me everything ~and also what I wanted to do differently.
This studio is that difference. One-on-one. Fully focused on you. All the experience, skill and knowledge I’ve built over the years is here with me. In short: all the magic, none of the madness.
What's your favorite part about being a stylist?
Easy~ Who else gets to spend their day making people feel like their best selves and be thanked for your work all day every day? From babies to weddings to reinventions, I’ve built a career full of connection, laughter, and the privilege of growing with my clients.
How should I prepare for my first visit?
LOVE this question! Here are a few of my favorite questions we will go over.
* What is your routine/maintenance schedule?
*What do you like about your hair currently?
*What do you not like about your hair currently?
~ Pictures are the best words- Don't worry about finding the perfect cut/color picture all in one. Multiple pictures that vary because you like a certain part or vibe but not the whole picture are great and here's why- try to find pictures close to what you like but also some of exactly what you don't like.
What form of payment do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Venmo and of course Cash is Queen
